Vodafone Paredes de Coura Festival Showcases Portuguese Talent

The Vodafone Paredes de Coura festival, held in Paredes de Coura, Portugal, from August 13 to 16, 2025, is a platform for promoting Portuguese singing and music. This year, the festival is making a concerted effort to attract new audiences and boost the recognition of music made in the Portuguese language.

The festival kicked off on the main stage with a performance by Portuguese artist Samuel Úria, who delivered an energetic set that captivated the audience. The concert marked the second largest stage performance of Úria's career.

Another notable Portuguese act at the festival was Capicua, a reference in national female hip hop. Capicua's performance took place in the Alto Minho village, drawing a crowd eager to experience her unique style.

Barcelos band Glokenwise, with nearly 20 years of career, also graced the stages of Vodafone Paredes de Coura. They showcased their most recent album in their performances, which was released this year. Glokenwise performed on a separate stage, catering to fans of contemporary Portuguese music.

In addition to these acts, Boca-Rota and CAIO performed on August 13, while MONSTRO and Marta Lima took the stage on August 14. These artists represent a blend of contemporary Portuguese music, but specific reviews or highlights of their performances are not widely available.

The Vodafone Paredes de Coura festival continues to prioritize Portuguese artists in its lineup, alongside a diverse range of international acts. Notable international artists for this year include Vampire Weekend, Zaho de Sagazan, MJ Lenderman, Nilüfer Yanya, Lola Young, and Portugal. The Man (though the latter is an American band).

Attending the event or following real-time updates would provide a deeper understanding of the festival's nuances and specific performances. The temperature at the venue was approximately 30 degrees during Samuel Úria's performance, promising a warm and lively atmosphere for music lovers.

Samuel Úria's energetic set on the main stage provided an entertaining mix of Portuguese music, attracting a large audience and marking a significant moment in his career. Capicua's unique style in the Alto Minho village also added to the diversity of Portuguese entertainment showcased at the festival.
