From May 28 to 31, 2025, the "Cup of Friendship - Glory to the Great Victory!" football festival took place at the Omsk sports complex "Krasnaya Zvezda," attracting teams from various cities across Russia and Kazakhstan. This prestigious event featured delegations from Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Novokuznetsk, Irkutsk, Barnaul, Krasnoyarsk, Surgut, Astana, Almaty, Karaganda, Pavlodar, Petropavlovsk, and Ust-Kamenogorsk, with a total of 118 teams and nearly 1,200 athletes aged 6 to 12.

Held under the auspices of the Center for the Development of Children's and Youth Sports "Pioneer," the regional sports ministry, Omsk City Council (OCC), and the department of youth affairs, physical culture, and sports of the Omsk administration, the tournament highlighted the importance of competition in fostering young footballers. In the "Krasnaya Zvezda" arena, winners and laureates were celebrated and honored with prizes and gifts, including the coveted "Cup of Friendship." The Omsk team "Star Junior," trained at the Pioneer sports center, clinched the victory in the 2018-2019 age group.

Looking ahead, the festival organizers are eager to continue hosting large-scale cultural-sports events, aiming not only to raise interest in a healthy lifestyle among Omsk residents but also to promote a favorable image of the city as a desirable place to live, learn, and work.

While this year's event was just one of many children's football festivals held worldwide, it served as another testament to Omsk's commitment to promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles among its youth. Such events play a crucial role in discovering and nurturing talent while fostering community engagement and a love for the sport.
