Asturias accused of slander and causing harm, with Ábalos seeking 25,000 euros in compensation

José Luis Ábalos, the former Minister of Transport in Spain, has filed a conciliation lawsuit against Claudia Montes. The lawsuit, filed in the Gijón courts, seeks 25,000 euros in damages for alleged slander and insults.

The lawsuit stems from statements Montes made in several interviews last May. Montes is accused of stating that Koldo García, Ábalos' former advisor, asked for "obscene things." However, it's important to note that Montes did not make these accusations in her testimony to the Supreme Court.

In her testimony, Montes asked for Ábalos' help in finding a job and specified that Koldo García handled the arrangements for her hiring at the public company Logirail. Montes also denied having any romantic relationship with the former minister.

Ricardo Corzo, Ábalos' lawyer, criticizes Montes for implying complicity in the alleged facts she reported. Corzo requests Montes to be summoned through her courts' address for location purposes. Alternatively, if Montes cannot be located through the courts' address, judicial assistance is requested to notify the Gijón Police and Civil Guard to locate her address.

Ábalos is seeking compensation for damages to his honor, public image, and professional career. The lawsuit does not request any new action from Montes, such as an apology or a specific justification for her statements. The lawsuit also does not include any new accusations against Montes beyond those mentioned.

The Operational Central Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard pointed out in one of the reports submitted to the case that Montes "could have been hired irregularly" in the company linked to Transport due to Ábalos' "influence" and with "relevant collaboration" from García.

Montes is an individual involved in the legal case "Koldo," who was accused in court of alleged defamation and insult in various interviews in May against José Luis Ábalos and Koldo García. The lawsuit includes links to news articles and a transcript of a TV interview as evidence.

Ábalos, in addition to seeking compensation, also asks Montes to justify her statements and apologize in writing. The outcome of the conciliation lawsuit is yet to be determined.
