Astros faced an early deficit and ultimately lost the series to Tigers, who capitalized on their early lead to secure the victory in all games.

The Detroit Tigers secured a dominant victory over the Houston Astros, winning game three by a score of 7-2. This triumphant result marked a sweep of the three-game series for the Tigers.

Charlie Morton was the winning pitcher for the Tigers, putting in a solid performance over six innings. He allowed just two runs, three hits, and three walks, while striking out eight batters. Morton demonstrated his skill, particularly in the fifth inning, where he struck out two batters with runners in scoring position.

Offensively, the Tigers had a strong showing. Andy Ibanez drove in the first run for the team with a single, and Spencer Torkelson added an RBI double. Dillon Dingler, a key contributor, hit at least one double in the game and scored two runs. He also ripped a one-out line drive double to left and later scored on Javier Baez's single against a drawn-in infield. Dingler also contributed a crucial RBI triple that scored Riley Greene.

Torkelson also contributed to the scoring, slashing an opposite-field, ground-rule double to bring home a run. Baez finished the game with two hits and two RBIs, while Dingler, Ibanez, and Torkelson each scored a run.

Unfortunately for the Astros, their offensive struggles continued. Houston was shut out in four of their previous five games, and this trend continued for much of the game. However, Mauricio Dubon ended the Astros' 31-inning scoreless drought with a two-run homer, scoring Yainer Diaz.

Houston starter Framber Valdez was charged with all seven Detroit runs, giving up seven hits and four walks with two strikeouts in five innings. The Astros bullpen, consisting of Brenan Hanifee, Tyler Holton, and Rafael Montero, combined for three innings of scoreless relief.

Despite the loss, the Astros will look to regroup and bounce back in their next series. The Detroit Tigers, on the other hand, will carry their momentum into their next game, having won nine out of their last 11 games.
