Rowdy Brothers Amigos Staggered by Youthful Adoration for Their Schlager Tunes

Shock over widespread youth support revealed among spectators - Astounded Friends Comment on Surge of Teenage Fanbase

The unconventional pair of brothers Karl-Heinz and Bernd Ulrich, famously known as Schlager duo Die Amigos, are winning over fans worldwide - even to their own astonishment, they're capturing the attention of the youth: "The schlager is doing quite splendidly, at least among some," quipped Karl-Heinz Ulrich (76) to the German Press Agency.

Perhaps their triumph among the youngsters comes down to their lyrics - it seems the newer generations are thinking with more depth about the world's problems than ever before. Numerous young fans, even children, are making their way onto the front row, harmonizing with their tunes.

Hailing from Central Hesse, these rough-and-ready brothers are legendary for their folksy disposition and lyrical focus on social matters, from homelessness to pollution to child abuse. They also represent the protection organization "Weisser Ring" as ambassadors. Yet, their albums shouldn't be devoid of dance numbers, considering Bernd Ulrich (74) put it, "It's essential to include songs for the disco fox, just for listening, for dancing, for relaxation."

Music and performances never stress these Amigos out

The Amigos embark on their music journey far and wide, but they don't find it overwhelming - to the brothers' own account. "Stress only occurs when someone can't open a gate properly, then they're burnt out," said Bernd Ulrich. Much like their attitude towards baked goods, they don't find tension in their work either: "If you're faced with a choice between apple cake and Black Forest cherry cake, then you can get stressed, but not from what we do. Because it's fun for us."

Nevertheless, they prioritize the planning of their performances, such as declining to sing on Mallorca, even though they've been asked. They've even turned down offers for vacations at sea."We have a full agenda. We're turning down countless offers that we can't or don't want to accept because we limit ourselves to performing 70, 80 shows per year," explained Bernd Ulrich. Their secret to success, according to his brother Karl-Heinz, is simple: "Stay zen, stay real, stay fair, and get along with others. We're like our audience."
