In a span of three days, the Forum Wasserturm played host to four spellbinding acts that left the crowd ecstatic, prolonging their applause for minutes on end. Guided by the artistic leadership of Jasmin Eskandari, the students of dance school JEDS elegantly re-imagined the Orient in a vivacious spectacle known as 'Tales from 1001 Nights'.

Astonishing accomplishment showcased during the dance presentation

In the heart of the show, the Sultan served as our master of ceremonies, whisking us away on an unforgettable journey through vivid worlds brimming with emotion. As the curtain ascended once more, it unveiled a whole new universe. The dance numbers by Armin (Mieke Müller) from Sevency Company, accompanied by the mesmerizing Scheherazade dancers Leni Meißner and Marie Siebeneichler, left a lasting impression, offering a tantalizing taste of what was yet to unfold. But the stage wasn't just theirs; the ensemble of diverse dancers - including Jasmin Eskandari's three-year-old daughter Aliya Leah Maafi - brought to life the mystique of countries like China, Thailand, and Persia, and the enigma of creatures such as tigers, elephants, apes, and snakes with their extraordinary moves. The performances ranged from ballet to hip hop, jazz dance, modern, Bollywood, pole dance, and even incorporated acrobatics.

One moment that truly stood out was the captivating appearance of a colossal, shimmering smoking lamp. As it emerged, a vivacious genie materialized, bewitching the audience with its undying energy. The tale, cloaked in mystique, carried a powerful message amidst dance and music: in today's era of digitalization, it's essential to hold onto the enchantment of the present, the genuine beauty around us.

The performances by the JEDS dance school were not simply a kaleidoscope of colors and movements, but likewise a poignant reminder to appreciate each moment's magic.
