Astana’s children’s hospitals overwhelmed as patient numbers spike by 50%

Astana's children's hospitals are experiencing a surge in patients since mid-October. The average daily patient count has risen to around 300, up from the usual 190-200. Social media images may overstate the situation due to multiple family members accompanying each child.

Deputy Director Roza Utegenova clarified that the visual impact of crowds is exaggerated by this practice. The increase in illnesses is linked to colder weather, school holidays, and children spending more time indoors. The hospital is currently treating a mix of age groups, including older kids, teenagers, schoolchildren, and preschoolers.

Astana's children's hospitals are coping with a rise in patients since mid-October. The surge is attributed to seasonal factors, and the hospital is managing a diverse range of age groups.
