Astana Theater Season Kicks Off With Premieres and Festivals
The new theater season in Astana has kicked off with a bang, promising a rich autumn filled with premieres, festivals, and tours. The Musical Theater for Young Audiences opened its 6th season with the captivating musical drama 'Abai - Togzhan', penned by Mukhtar Auezov. This production tells the tale of young Abai's first love and the origins of his poetry.
The State Drama Theater named after Auezov began its 8th season with the drama 'Boranandy Beket', based on Chingiz Aitmatov's novel. The premiere was timed to coincide with the birthday of Auezov Madikhan Mambetov. The production combines the space of Boranandy Beket, Sarıozek, the native land, and the whole planet through the image of the main character, Edige.
Last season, the theater presented an array of new productions, including 'Tanaköz', 'Küşiк külieu', 'Mukagali 21', 'Ar adamy', 'Asan and Usen', 'Dreams Come True', and 'Saygulik'. The director of 'Saygulik' was Yerzhan Ilyassov. Looking ahead, the theater plans to present 'Shäkärim' from September 19th to 21st and 'Ämire' from October 6th to 12th.
