Astana offers free bus rides for constitutional referendum voters

Astana will offer free bus travel on Sunday, March 15, 2026. The move aims to help residents reach polling stations more easily during a planned constitutional reform referendum. Official details on station locations remain unconfirmed so far.

The decision covers all city, express, and suburban bus routes. Services will run on their usual timetable, from 6:00 AM until 11:00 PM. Authorities have not yet released specific polling station addresses for the referendum.

Voters are advised to check the Central Election Commission's website (www.elections.kz) or contact local akimat offices for updates. The free transport measure is part of broader efforts to improve accessibility on election day.

Residents will not pay for bus journeys across Astana on March 15. The initiative supports voter turnout by easing travel to polling stations. Official polling locations will be announced through government channels in due course.
