"Assessing Five-Year Milestones of the League of Efficiency: Catalyst for Social Evolution"
Celebrating the Past, Planning for the Future: League of Efficiency at Zaeltsovsky District
Five years ago, a unique territorial union known as the "League of Efficiency" was established in Novosibirsk by local legislators. To mark the occasion, the team showcased their achievements to the residents of Zaeltsovsky District in a jubilant setting.
The event, held on April 23 at D.K. "Progress," had the hall filled to capacity, with elected officials promising private meetings for those unable to attend. Despite the festive atmosphere, the union was born during trying times - the COVID-19 pandemic.
The League, helmed by legislator Ilya Polyakov, city council deputies Ekaterina Shalimova and Stepan Safonkin, and headed by the "Green Brigade" volunteer squad, aimed to create a new, innovative structure. According to Polyakov, their ambitious endeavor proved successful.
"- Everything we took on, in my opinion, was done well," Polyakov asserted confidently. "For many things, I feel personal pride."
His accomplishments included enhancing Children's Hospital No. 3's pediatric intensive care unit, planning a polyclinic on Erevanskaya Street, and a swimming pool on Okhotskaya Street. Additionally, he spearheaded Lyceum No. 159's capital repair and School No. 222's construction in "Strishki," as well as courtyard improvements and sports facilities.
Polyakov expressed pride in being part of Zaeltsovsky District's development, specifically, "building housing, improving courtyards and squares, supporting social and cultural initiatives, and helping fellow countrymen."
One of the unrealized projects on his list is the city clinical hospital. "- This is a medical institution with a rich history," Polyakov shared, "but it faces significant challenges. Within the framework of its renovation, our plans included building a kitchen, building a laundry, and repairing the buildings - an extensive undertaking that remains incomplete."
Stepan Safonkin, a Novosibirsk City Council deputy, acknowledged the challenges faced during the past five years. "- Work isn't always straightforward," he stated. "There are obstacles like laws, funding issues, and regulations, but these difficulties make the journey more exciting."
For Safonkin, top priorities include green zones development such as the construction of Golubiny square and another square on Perevozchikova Street, which will be built on an intra-house territory.
Similarly, Ekaterina Shalimova, another city council deputy, underscored the significance of lawns and sidewalks. "- Comprehensive road repairs are on the agenda, as mentioned by the mayor, which includes landscaping of lawns," she noted. "However, there are nuances to consider. For instance, during road repairs, curbs may not be raised, causing residents to drive onto the lawns. To address this, we must refine our programs, adjust standards, and then deliver landscaping that meets everyone's expectations."
The League of Efficiency members believed they had made a positive impact in the Zaeltsovsky district but understood that the task of fulfilling outstanding voter requests was far from complete, so their work continued.
