Football pundit Micah Richards cherishes his chance encounter with renowned actor Tom Cruise during CBS' coverage of the UEFA Champions League final on their new 'Beckham and Friends' show.
The 36-year-old found himself mixing with stars, including David Beckham, as the A-list crowd joined the regular CBS football team like Richards, Kate Abdo, Thierry Henry, and Jamie Carragher. When Tom Cruise joined the crew for PSG's dominating 5-0 win over Inter Milan, the Mission: Impossible star generously offered some acting advice to Richards.
Ever the jokester, Richards inquired if Cruise could teach him how to perform sad, contrasting his usual energetic self. Cruise obliged and suggested Richards should lower his head and look down to achieve his most despondent look.
Now, Richards has spoken about this surreal moment during an interview with Gary Lineker and Alan Shearer on the Rest Is Football podcast. With newfound confidence, he shared that he thinks he has the ability to break into the film industry.
"Lower your eyes, chin down," he explained with enthusiasm. "And I nailed it! I nailed it guys, I'm going to Hollywood!"
Lineker humorously responded, "I'm starting to cry, Micah. It's so real."
However, Shearer later shot down Richards' dreams, remarking, "You can't do sad! You're the happiest man in the world."
The trio has recently secured a significant deal for their popular podcast, with Lineker partnering with DAZN to air highlights of the upcoming Club World Cup. The podcast will feature elements from the video version of the show[2].
The revamped Club World Cup takes place in the US, featuring heavyweights like Real Madrid, Man City, Chelsea, and Inter Miami, starting on June 15.
