Tashi Yoezer from Bhutan lost his match against Sagar, Preet Malik lost to Ilya Kalinin from Kazakhstan, Devika Ghorpade lost against Thi Ngoc Tran Nyugen from Vietnam, and Kartik Dalal lost to Brandon Soriano from the Philippines in the men's 70kg bout.
Three other Indian boxers could not get the desired result despite a strong fight against tough opponents. Despite these setbacks, the Indian boxing contingent had a mixed day overall.
