ASI San Diego's Launch Surpasses Anticipated Performance
ASI San Diego 2010: A Successful Trade Show for the Promotional Products Industry
The Advertising Specialty Institute's (ASI) San Diego event in February 2010 proved to be a significant success for the promotional products industry. Held at the San Diego Convention Center, the show attracted over 2,200 distributors and more than 300 exhibitors, including a majority of Counselor Top 40 suppliers.
Stephanie Critchfield from The Vernon Company was among the many suppliers who expressed their delight at the opportunity to meet with distributors at the event. John Hill from Stuffed Tees reported similarly positive experiences, with wonderful booth traffic and a multitude of leads. Benn Chazen from BamBams also expressed satisfaction, noting good traffic in terms of both scans and quality distributors.
Ross Silverstein from iPROMOTEu was another supplier who benefited from visiting the show floor, as he saw tons of hot, new products for the start of 2010. Fran Ford from J. Charles Crystalworks, meanwhile, expressed optimism for the future, predicting that ASI San Diego would be twice the size next year.
The show opened with over 500 people attending a day of 55 educational seminars and workshops. Attendees also enjoyed networking opportunities, including a packed 'Gala Celebration' at Stingaree Nightclub. Distributors left the event pumped-up for the new sales season, and suppliers were optimistic about sales in the coming year.
California, home to the largest number of distributors and suppliers, was an ideal destination for the show. In fact, California reps were excited to have a California show at ASI San Diego. The show took place from February 24 to February 26, 2010, and the keynote speaker was Tony Robbins, a legendary life coach.
Beverly Walter from Brown & Bigelow was among those who were impressed with ASI San Diego and plans to participate again. Suppliers reported steady traffic during the exhibition days, and distributors were drawn from approximately 1,000 firms across the United States. San Diego was added to the Advertising Specialty Institute's large, super-regional trade show lineup after members voted it a 'top choice'.
Overall, ASI San Diego 2010 was a successful event for the promotional products industry, providing opportunities for networking, education, and the discovery of new products. As Fran Ford predicted, it's likely that next year's event will be even bigger and better.
