Aschaffenburg Mayor Backs Local Swimming Sensation Lena Ludwig, Calls for New Pool

As Mayor Jürgen Herzing of Aschaffenburg recently commended local swimming prodigy Lena Ludwig for her remarkable feats at the Junior Swimming World Championships, he also pledged to discuss the necessity of a swimming pool in the city. Poseidon's Ludwig, who competes in the 100m and 200m breaststroke events, has sparked immense interest in swimming training, leading to a waitlist for new children at her club. The city previously contemplated constructing a 25-meter pool before the COVID-19 pandemic, but now SSKC Poseidon yearns for a 50-meter training pool. Mayor Herzing presented Ludwig with a gift and a donation for her club's youth work at a reception attended by her family, youth coach Svenja Lotz, and the head of the sports department, Helmut Maier. The city has yet to pinpoint who is specifically tasked with planning a 50-meter swimming pool. With the heightened interest in swimming and Ludwig's extraordinary achievements, the discourse for a new swimming pool in Aschaffenburg is gathering steam, potentially benefiting not only Ludwig but also the many young swimmers eager to join her at SSKC Poseidon.
