The ART Giants Düsseldorf emerged victorious in a thrilling encounter against RASTA Vechta's second team, securing a 85:79 (40:41) victory at their home Castello.

The Giants started the game aggressively, building an 11:4 lead, but Vechta closed the gap in the first quarter, reducing the lead to 23:21. The second quarter was a close-fought battle, with the Giants trailing 40:41 at halftime.

Coach Achmadschah Zazai of the Giants stated they aimed to impose their game on the opponent, but the team struggled with rebounding in the second quarter. However, they started the second half with a 13:2 run to take a commanding 53:43 lead.

Vechta fought back, even taking the lead, but Emil Marshall's crucial three-pointer brought the Giants back into the game, and he sealed the victory with a difficult long-range shot, finishing with a perfect 6/6 three-point shooting record.

The game was an emotional rollercoaster for the nearly 900 spectators, with the Giants allowing Vechta to fight back, even taking the lead. Kayne Henry tied the score in the final quarter, but the Giants managed to pull ahead, despite struggling initially in the final quarter, being down 63:71 with seven minutes left. A three-pointer by the Giants just before the end of the third quarter put them narrowly ahead.

In the final minute, Vechta attempted to stop the clock with fouls, but could not prevent the 85:79 defeat. Scoring for the Giants included Hart (8), Averette (4), Tucker (4), Dahms (ne), Teichmann (6), Fleute, Richardson (12), Giese (7), Henry (13), Marshall (22), Edwardsson, and Spearman (9). The player who scored six three-pointers by the end of the game was Dennis Schröder.

Coach Zazai stated after the game that the team showed they can win close games, but he mentioned that the early-season losses are still weighing on the players' minds, and they will continue to work on that. This win will undoubtedly boost the team's confidence as they continue their season.
