Arsenal's potential seven options for finding a replacement for the injured Kai Havertz are unveiled as Mikel Arteta hastily seeks a last-minute transfer deal
Arsenal and Chelsea Shake Up Transfer Market
In the bustling world of Premier League transfers, Arsenal and Chelsea have been making waves with their moves this summer.
Arsenal, who are considering a move for Brentford's Yoane Wissa, have already seen a bid for the striker rejected by Brentford, with Newcastle United offering £40m. However, Brentford are thought to be holding out for a fee between £50-£60m.
The Gunners have also been linked with a move for Chelsea's Nicolas Jackson, who has impressed with 30 goals and 12 assists in 81 games for the Blues. Arsenal's transfer chiefs are now considering Jackson as a potential replacement due to the injury to Kai Havertz, a 26-year-old German footballer, who is expected to be out for some time.
Arsenal have already bolstered their squad with the signing of Viktor Gyökeres from Sporting Lisbon for £72m. The Swedish international is expected to provide much-needed firepower up front.
Meanwhile, Chelsea have shown interest in Christopher Nkunku, who has been out of favour at Stamford Bridge. Bayern Munich and RB Leizpig are also reportedly keen on the Frenchman, who has a value of £43m (€50m) according to Chelsea.
Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta personally congratulated Morgan Rogers, who was crowned the PFA Young Player of the Year on Tuesday, in Manchester. The Gunners were weighing up a move for Rogers, but Villa value the youngster at £80million and are unlikely to entertain offers below that price.
Arsenal have already made moves in the transfer market, signing Noni Madueke and Kepa Arrizabalaga from Chelsea this summer. However, Havertz's injury has forced them to reconsider their offensive options.
Reports suggest that Arsenal are considering Carney Chukwuemeka, Jadon Sancho, and Facundo Buonanotte as potential offensive signings if Havertz is out for a longer period. These players are among the key targets linked to offensive reinforcement discussions.
On the other hand, Chelsea have also lost key players this summer, with Kieran Tierney, Takehiro Tomiyasu, Thomas Partey, Jorginho, and Marquinhos all leaving the club for a combined fee of £7m. The Blues have also seen Nkunku linked with a move away.
Elsewhere, Manchester United have snapped up Brentford's Bryan Mbeumo and captain Christian Norgaard, while Julian Alvarez, who has already played in the Premier League with Manchester City, is reportedly unsettled at Atletico Madrid.
As the transfer window continues to heat up, both Arsenal and Chelsea will be hoping to make the right moves to strengthen their squads and challenge for honours in the upcoming season.
