Arsenal triumphs in an exhilarating match against Man City, whereas Liverpool secures victory in the Merseyside derby in the predicted Premier League outcomes
Everton are currently sixth in the Premier League table after four games, despite drawing goalless at home to Aston Villa, despite having 20 attempts on goal with only two on target.
Meanwhile, Liverpool have been making waves in the Uefa Champions League, defeating Atletico Madrid 3-2 in midweek, thanks to Virgil van Dijk's injury-time winner. The Reds have also started their league campaign with a perfect record, all four wins coming courtesy of late goals.
Spurs, too, have been impressing, winning 1-0 over Villarreal in the Champions League and have won three out of four domestically. Chelsea, too, remain unbeaten after a 2-2 draw at Brentford, and sit fifth in the table with eight points.
However, it's not all smooth sailing for some teams. Wolves are currently bottom of the table after losing all four of their matches, while Villa's goalless draw with Everton means they are second bottom. Fulham secured their first league win of the campaign against Leeds, who have taken just one point from three games since beating Everton on the opening weekend of the season.
Elsewhere, Newcastle sealed their first win of the season against Wolves, while Bournemouth are aiming for a fourth league win in a row following victories over Wolves, Tottenham, and Brighton. Sunderland have also started the season well, taking seven points from a possible 12 in the league.
West Ham manager Graham Potter finds himself under pressure after three defeats out of four, with the Hammers conceding more goals (11) than any other team in the league. Palace, on the other hand, are one of only three unbeaten teams left in the division, but have drawn three out of four games.
In other Champions League action, Manchester City avoided a third successive defeat with a 2-0 win over Napoli, while Arsenal are second in the table after a 3-0 home win over Nottingham Forest, who are managed by Ange Postecoglou, the former Australian international player who recently led Tottenham Hotspur to a Europa League title before joining Forest. New Forest manager Ange Postecoglou saw his team lose 3-0 at Arsenal in his first game in charge.
Brentford drew against Chelsea with Fabio Carvalho scoring three minutes into added time, while Burnley lost 1-0 at home to champions Liverpool.
