Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) has punch their ticket to the Champions League final, edging past Arsenal 2-1 in a hard-fought semi-final match. The final will see PSG face off against Inter Milan on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at 21:00 CET at the Allianz Arena in Munich, Germany.

An electrifying beginning at the Parc des Princes

The European showdown started off furiously, with Arsenal quickly putting pressure on the home team. Goalkeeper Gianluigi Donnarumma, one of the standout performers of the night, had to be sharp, rejecting a close-range shot by captain Martin Ødegaard just minutes into the game.

With PSG still missing Ousmane Dembélé due to injury, the French champions struggled to find their footing - until Kosври Chwitscha Kvaratskhelia struck the post from a distance (17'). The rowdy PSG ultras had already set the stage ablaze with a rumbling firework display outside the stadium. The decisive breakthrough came when Fabián Ruiz unleashed a stunning strike from outside the box, putting PSG up 1-0.

Gripping tension until the final whistle

With Arsenal continuing to push for an equalizer, Saka teed up another superb save by Donnarumma (64'). Vitinha almost doubled PSG's lead soon after, but his spot kick was saved by the ever-present Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya. A right-footed finish by Achraf Hakimi extended PSG's advantage to 2-0, before Saka found the back of the net (76'), reducing the deficit. The English midfielder then had a golden opportunity to even the score, but his header sailed agonizingly wide of the mark.

The clash between Paris and Inter will mark the first competitive meeting between the two clubs. Previously, their only encounters were friendly matches, with Inter emerging victorious in a 2-1 result in Tokyo back in August 2023.

The road to the final

  • Paris Saint-Germain (PSG): Eliminated Stade Brestois 29 (playoff round), Liverpool FC (round of 16), Aston Villa FC (quarter-finals), and Arsenal FC (semi-finals).
  • Inter Milan: Defeated Feyenoord, FC Bayern Munich, and FC Barcelona to reach the final.

The Allianz Arena in Munich will play host to this intriguing matchup, bringing together two European heavyweights for the first time in a competitive setting.
