Arsenal and Lyon face off in the Women's Champions League, Barcelona takes on Chelsea in the same competition

The 2022/23 UEFA Women's Champions League has seen a significant shift, moving from a group stage format to an 18-team unified league phase. This season promises to be more intense and exciting than ever, with some intriguing matchups lined up in the league phase.

In the league phase, debutants OH Leuven will host Arsenal, Roma, and Twente, and visit Barcelona, PSG, and Paris FC. The Belgian side will also face away matches against AS Roma and Wolfsburg. Barcelona, last season's runners-up, will reciprocate the home-and-away series, visiting OH Leuven and hosting the three-time champions, Barcelona.

Real Madrid, another newcomer, will visit Arsenal, PSG, and FC Twente, and host Paris FC, AS Roma, and Wolfsburg. The Spanish giants will also have a home match against last season's winners, AS Roma, and VFL Wolfsburg.

Paris FC, who will host three-time champions Barcelona, will also visit Chelsea in the league phase. The French side will also host Paris FC in the return leg.

The Women's Champions League title holders, Arsenal, will host OL Lyonnes and visit Bayern Munich. OL Lyonnes, who are set to make their debut in the league phase, will also visit Manchester United, who are making their debut in the competition.

Manchester United will host Paris St Germain and face away matches against Atletico Madrid, Wolfsburg, and Juventus. The top four teams directly qualify for the quarter-finals, while teams from fifth to 12th advance to the knockout phase playoffs to battle over the remaining four spots in the last eight.

In the previous season, Bayern Munich women's team faced Juventus, Real Madrid, and VFL Wolfsburg in the group stage. This year, the competition promises to be even more challenging and exciting, with the unified league phase format providing a level playing field for all teams.
