Arsenal Agreement with Viktor Gyokeres could be made official in the coming hours
In a significant move for Arsenal, the Gunners have agreed on personal terms with Swedish striker Viktor Gyokeres, according to Fabrizio Romano. This follows Arsenal's pursuit of the 27-year-old, who has been in exceptional form for his current club, Sporting.
Last season, Gyokeres scored an impressive 54 goals in 52 games across all competitions. His goal-scoring prowess could prove beneficial for Arsenal, who have been in need of a prolific goalscorer. Notably, he scored a hat-trick against Manchester City in the Champions League last season.
Negotiations between Arsenal and Gyokeres have concluded successfully, and he is currently training with the team. However, the transfer window is still open, and Gyokeres is prepared to wait until the end or consider a loan move if necessary.
Sporting are demanding a fee of €70 million, with €10 million in add ons for Gyokeres. Arsenal have made an offer of a €65 million fixed fee, with €15 million in add ons. Gyokeres is willing to forfeit up to €2 million in wages at Sporting to facilitate a move to Arsenal.
Meanwhile, Turkish side Fenerbahçe, managed by Jose Mourinho, are preparing a potential deal for Gyokeres if negotiations with Arsenal fail. Fenerbahçe's potential deal for Gyokeres could be similar to the one that brought Victor Osimhen to Galatasaray.
Transfermarkt currently values Gyokeres at €75 million. With funds available due to expected outgoings in the squad this summer, Arsenal should consider finalizing the deal for Gyokeres.
Despite his age, modern football allows players to perform at a high level for longer. Gyokeres, who has already decided he no longer wants to play for Sporting, may attend pre-season training with the club despite his desire for a move.
The news of Gyokeres' potential move to Arsenal has been met with excitement by fans, who are eager to see the prolific striker in action for the Gunners. As the transfer window continues, fans will be keeping a close eye on developments regarding Gyokeres and Arsenal.
