Jharkhand Education Minister Ramdas Soren Passes Away at 62

Ramdas Soren, the Jharkhand Education Minister, passed away on August 16 at the age of 62, following complications from a severe head injury he sustained after slipping and falling in his bathroom at his residence on August 2.

Soren was admitted to a hospital in Jamshedpur before being airlifted to Delhi on August 2, where a multidisciplinary team of senior specialists provided intensive medical care. Despite their efforts, he passed away on August 15 at Apollo Hospital, New Delhi.

The news of Soren's demise elicited widespread grief and significantly impacted Jharkhand's political landscape. Chief Minister Hemant Soren confirmed the news on a social media platform, and leaders from various political parties paid tribute to Soren at the Vidhan Sabha in Ranchi.

Congress leader Rajesh Thakur condoled the demise of Jharkhand's education minister, describing him as a straightforward, simple, polite, and honest person who worked sincerely in the field of education. Jharkhand Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar also expressed grief over Soren's demise.

Before his passing, Soren was known for his dedication to education reform and grassroots public service. In other education-related news, the TNTET 2025 Exam registration was still open until September 8. However, due to Soren's demise, the exam has been postponed, and new dates are yet to be announced. The HPSC has also released a revised 2025 exam calendar with key dates announced for Assistant Professor and Treasury exams.
