Arrivals Imminent: Anticipated Introductions Featuring "Hage"

Fresh Take:

Yo, Gaetano Manno's been sailing smooth, filling two positions already this week. "Stoked they said yes," he chuckles. They're joining the squad on Wednesday, down at Oberbergische Street.

But his work ain't done just yet. The big fish is still on the line: an experienced center back who can shore things up and guide the rookies. "Plenty are chasing him, it's tough, but we're hanging in," says the sporting director, who's still not in a position to throw cash around – gotta sell the WSV project instead.

The WSV's first trial match is on July 5th in Willingen against KSV Hessen Kassel (3:15 PM at Upland Stadium). The season opener follows the next day against VfL Bochum (3:30 PM). The WSV has kickstarted the pre-sale (Check it out here). On July 9th, it's time for TuS Ennepetal (7 PM), with former WSV captain Kevin Hagemann in tow.

The schedules for the 1st and 2nd leagues drop on June 27th, while those for the 3rd league and regionals come shortly after. The WSV's applied for the opening match on July 25th (Friday evening) (As reported in the local rag).

Out of the 19 players who bailed on the WSV, ten are still without a new gig. Here's the rundown:

  • Beyhan Ametov (SSVg Velbert)
  • Dominik Bilogrevic (Still in the clubhouse)
  • Timo Bornemann (Fortuna Cologne)
  • Pedro Cejas (Still in the clubhouse)
  • Dilhan Demir (Still in the clubhouse)
  • Aday Ercan (Back with VfL Osnabrück on loan)
  • Vincent Gembalies (Still in the clubhouse)
  • Riccardo Grym (Still in the clubhouse)
  • Kevin Hagemann (TuS Ennepetal)
  • Joep Munsters (Still in the clubhouse)
  • Shinnosuke Nishi (Still in the clubhouse)
  • Vincent Ocansey (Arminia Bielefeld II)
  • Benedikt Wimmer (Back with Bayern Munich U23 on loan)
  • Yousef Qashi (Still in the clubhouse)
  • Hugo Schmidt (SpVg Schonnebeck)
  • Marco Terrazzino (Retired)
  • Benedikt Wimmer (Back with Bayern Munich U23 on loan)
  • Krystian Wozniak (Still in the clubhouse)

Gaetano Manno is hoping to secure an experienced center back for the team to help shore things up and guide the rookies, as the WSV eyes a challenging Champions League campaign. Despite the departures of several players, the goal is to keep the team competitive, with Kevin Hagemann already joining TuS Ennepetal, and others potentially seeking opportunities in European leagues.
