Fresno Murder Suspect Cristino Rocha Extradited After Two-Year Manhunt
After a two-year search, Cristino Rocha, a 48-year-old man accused of the 2023 murder of Paul Fierro in central Fresno, has been brought back to Fresno and is now in custody.
Rocha was arrested in Waco, Texas, on July 23, 2025, by U.S. Marshals agents. The arrest followed a tip from Crime Stoppers in San Antonio that helped law enforcement locate him.
The Eastern District of California U.S. Marshals Office communicated with the Western District of Texas U.S. Marshals Office to facilitate the arrest and transfer. Rocha was booked into McLennan County Jail the same day and was awaiting extradition to Fresno.
On Monday, August 4, 2025, Rocha arrived at the Fresno jail and is expected to be arraigned on charges including murder in the coming days.
The alleged murder occurred outside Fierro's home near Lansing and Glenn Avenue in central Fresco, following an argument. Fierro, who was 39 years old, was the victim of the crime.
The arrest of Cristino Rocha was reported by police, and he is now awaiting trial for the murder charges against him.
The arrest of Cristino Rocha in Waco, Texas, marks a significant turn in the two-year-long manhunt for the suspect of the 2023 central Fresno murder. Interestingly, the general-news about this case may soon shift to politics, as Rocha's trial for the crime-and-justice charges could potentially impact local politics.
