In the heart of Gelsenkirchen, an illegal street race took place on Kurt-Schumacher-Straße on Friday evening around 11 PM. According to reports, at least three cars were involved in the event, including a white Audi and a dark gray sports car.

The police initiated a criminal investigation against a 28-year-old driver for his participation in the race on March 28, 2025. During the pursuit, the white Audi was signaled to stop on Grillostraße, and the driver complied, resulting in the confiscation of his license and vehicle.

However, the driver of the dark gray sports car continued the race and remains the subject of ongoing investigations by Gelsenkirchen police. Witnesses with information about either car or the unknown drivers are asked to contact the police at 0209 365 6280 or 0209 365 2160.
