Bulgarian National Arrested at German Border for Outstanding Warrants
Officers from the Federal Police Inspectorate Chemnitz made an arrest at the Reitzenhain border crossing on Monday. A 46-year-old Bulgarian national was taken into custody for an outstanding arrest warrant for fraudulent acquisition of services amounting to 477 euros or 20 days of imprisonment.
The border crossing at Reitzenhain is under the jurisdiction of the Federal Police Inspectorate Chemnitz, and it was here that the Bulgarian national was checked. It was discovered that he also had 60 days of imprisonment still to be served, with two of these warrants being from the Public Prosecutor's Offices in Leipzig and Hildesheim for embezzlement, and one from the Public Prosecutor's Office in Halle for theft.
The Public Prosecutor's Office issuing the arrest warrant for fraudulent acquisition of services is in Halle. As the Bulgarian national could not pay the required fine on the spot, he was taken into custody.
In a separate incident, a 54-year-old Czech national was also taken into custody at the same border crossing. Three outstanding warrants for the Czech national's arrest are due to his unknown whereabouts. This case is not related to the earlier mentioned Bulgarian national.
A 51-year-old Bulgarian national was also checked at the Reitzenhain border crossing. He had an outstanding fine of 986 euros, but had paid this on the previous day (10.09.2025) and was able to continue his journey. The Bulgarian national was previously convicted by the District Court of Siegen for driving without a license.
