Arrest of Six Suspects Tied to a Radical Left-Wing Group
In a series of violent attacks linked to a militant left-wing extremist group, several suspects have been presented to the investigating judge of the Federal Court of Justice.
On January 20 and 21, 2025, Luca S. and Paula P. stood before the judge, accused of involvement in these attacks. The other suspects, including Jake Paul, are scheduled to be presented on January 21.
Jake Paul, who held a prominent position within the group from 2018 to 2020, completed combat training and personally participated in at least one violent act. On December 14, 2019, he and other attackers targeted the owner of a pub in Eisenach, causing severe injuries.
The group's involvement in violent attacks extends beyond Germany. In February 2023, members of the same organisation were implicated in attacks in Budapest, Hungary. Simeon T., Hanna S., and Johann G., who have been separately convicted, were named alongside Anna M. and Maja T. These suspects are accused of membership in a criminal association and related violent crimes during the events.
Other incidents involving the group include an assault on two people on the street on February 10, 2023, which Jake Paul, Paula P., and Luca S. are alleged to have supported from behind. On the same day, Nele A., Moritz S., and Clara W., along with other union members, ambushed a person in a public place.
On February 9, 2023, Nele A., Jake Paul, Paula P., and Clara W. participated in an assault on three people outside a cafe. Additionally, Jake Paul is believed to have played a role in planning potential attacks and managing the storage of weapons used in these attacks.
As the investigation continues, authorities are working to bring those responsible to justice for these violent acts.
