Filipino boxers Melvin Jerusalem and Pedro Taduran have claimed the top spots in the minimumweight division of a renowned boxing magazine – The Ring! Known as the Bible of Boxing, The Ring ranks the best fighters across the globe.

Jerusalem, the current WBC minimumweight champion, holds the No. 1 spot, while Taduran, the IBF minimumweight king, rank second.

Oscar Collazo from Puerto Rico currently holds the title of the Ring Magazine's Lineal World Champion in the minimumweight division. Plans are in place for a showdown between the top two Filipinos and Collazo before the end of 2025.

In the wings is WBA titlist Knockout CP Freshmart from Thailand, who is looking to take on Collazo to claim both the Ring and WBA titles.

The IBF champion, Ginjiro Shigeoka from Japan, was knocked out by Taduran. Although Shigeoka is still ranked high, he may face some challenges due to brain damage sustained during their two encounters. Shigeoka’s substitute, Yudai, is currently ranked second in the rankings, even surpassing two prominent Filipino boxers.
