Monish Ansari, a 19-year-old barber in Greater Noida, has recently been apprehended by authorities for publishing a pro-Pakistan remark on popular social media platforms. The young man, hailing from Rampur, was looking for likes on the post that made the rounds, garnering public disapproval and calls for action[1].

According to Assistant Commissioner of Police (Central Noida) BS Vir Kumar, the authorities took notice upon seeing the viral comment being repeatedly retweeted across numerous accounts demanding a tough response. Upon investigating, they identified Ansari as the individual responsible for the comment[1].

During the investigation, Ansari confessed to making the comment seeking approval from his peers online[1]. The authorities found no reports of any prior criminal history or suspicious activities associated with the suspect. However, they registered a case of public mischief under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at Surajpur police station and into custody[1].

Unfortunately, this arrest comes at a time when tensions are running high, and security measures are heightened in response to recent incidents like the Pahalgam attack. To address the situation, the Gautam Budh Nagar police have initiated a house-to-house search in Noida, Central Noida, and Greater Noida, aiming to pinpoint troublemakers, in addition to tracking down any Pakistani nationals residing in the district without proper documentation[1].

Moreover, a police team has been assigned to monitor social media platforms for potential breaches of the law and peace. Anyone found to disrupt the law-abiding nature of the region can expect severe consequences[1]. These actions underscore the increasing role of social media surveillance in ensuring the maintenance of law and order, especially in tense political climates.
