Arrest made in Atlanta for vehicle break-in and purloining of unpublished Beyoncé songs, police claim
In a recent development, a suspect named Kelvin Evans has been arrested in connection with an auto break-in that occurred in Atlanta on July 8. The incident resulted in the theft of digital files, including unreleased music and other tour-related data, from a rental vehicle.
The stolen items did not include any physical copies of unreleased music or tour files, only digital ones. The stolen digital files were not accessible to the public before the break-in. The stolen items included two Apple laptops and five thumb drives, and the suspect allegedly stole two suitcases during the break-in.
The theft was reported by Beyoncé's choreographer and dancer, Christopher Grant, and Diandre Blue, while they were at a restaurant. The investigation into the auto break-in and the theft of the digital files is still ongoing, and no new leads or suspects have been publicly announced.
The suspect was booked into jail on charges of entering a vehicle with the intent to commit theft and a parole violation. However, the lawyer of Kelvin Evans, the suspect arrested, is not publicly disclosed. The online jail records for metro Atlanta's Fulton County do not list an attorney for Evans.
None of the stolen items have been recovered as of Atlanta police spokesman Anthony Grant's email on Tuesday. Grant stated that he was carrying personal sensitive information for Beyoncé, but no specific details about the nature of the information were disclosed.
This incident occurred while Beyoncé's choreographer and dancer were touring with the singer. The auto break-in is a concerning development for the music industry, highlighting the importance of securing sensitive digital data. As the investigation continues, fans and industry professionals alike will be eagerly awaiting updates on the case.
