Arnold Schwarzenegger's television series "Fubar" has ceased production following its completion of two seasons.

In a surprising turn of events, the US streaming giant Netflix has announced that it will not be renewing Arnold Schwarzenegger's action-packed series "Fubar" for a third season.

The series, which premiered in 2023, was Schwarzenegger's first leading role in a scripted streaming show. The first season, a hit for Netflix, received mixed reviews but managed to attract a large audience, propelled by Schwarzenegger's star power. The show, created by Nick Santora, saw Schwarzenegger play CIA veteran Luke Brunner, who was about to retire but found himself drawn back into the world of espionage.

The second season, which premiered on June 12, 2025, saw a significant drop in viewership. Despite a dramatic plotline involving Brunner rescuing another agent, who turned out to be his daughter, the season failed to maintain the momentum of the first. As a result, Netflix has decided to cancel the series after two seasons.

The second season of "Fubar" also featured Monica Barbaro, Milan Carter, Fortune Feimster, and Travis Van Winkle. However, even with this talented cast, the series could not regain its initial success. After its premiere, it dropped out of the top 10 English-language Netflix series within a week.

Despite the cancellation, "Fubar" leaves a lasting impact. The series demonstrated Schwarzenegger's ability to adapt to the streaming era and proved to be a significant addition to Netflix's roster of action series. The news of its cancellation was reported by the US industry magazine "Variety".

"The cancellation of 'Fubar' after two seasons might have a significant impact on Schwarzenegger's future ventures in entertainment, as his star power initially helped the series gain a large audience on Netflix. Despite the talented supporting cast, including Monica Barbaro, Milan Carter, Fortune Feimster, and Travis Van Winkle, the series failed to regain its initial success."

"In the wake of the cancellation announcement, industry publications such as Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, and Deadline documented the news, emphasizing Schwarzenegger's first leading role in a scripted streaming show and the series' place within Netflix's roster of action series."
