Ceasefire Along the Line of Control Remains Intact, Says Indian Army

Recent reports of ceasefire violations along the Line of Control (LoC) between India and Pakistan in early August 2025 have been met with official denials by Indian authorities. While some news outlets and eyewitness accounts suggested Pakistani troops opened fire at the Kshatriya post in Poonch, the Indian Army has vehemently denied any ceasefire violation or breach.

On August 5, some media outlets reported that about 15 to 20 rounds were exchanged between the two sides. However, the Indian Army released official statements rejecting these claims, urging media and the public not to spread unverified information that could escalate tensions.

No casualties or hostile incidents were reported officially, and the Pakistani army did not respond to requests for comments. This incident is said to be the first reported breach since "Operation Sindoor" in May 2025, though the denial complicates the matter of attribution and confirmation.

The escalated India-Pakistan crisis earlier in 2025 with armed skirmishes along the LoC from April to May was followed by a ceasefire implemented on May 10, 2025.

The Indian army announced on Tuesday that there was no ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC). The situation remains sensitive with high alert status maintained along the border. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) has reported that its staff and doctors in Gaza are reportedly fainting from hunger, but has not provided further details about this situation.

Meanwhile, the European Central Bank (ECB) is expected to hold rates as Trump tariff uncertainty lingers. Ajman Bank, based in the United Arab Emirates, reported a profit before tax of Dh266 million in H1 2025, but details about the sources of its profit and its financial performance for the second half of 2025 were not provided in the announcement.

In other news, the police in the UAE have warned against unauthorised bikes and e-scooters on UAE roads. The Pakistani army did not respond to a request for comment outside regular hours regarding the alleged ceasefire violation in the Poonch region along the LoC. The ECB's decision to hold rates is likely influenced by ongoing trade tensions between the United States and various countries.

The Indian army's announcement of no ceasefire violation along the Line of Control (LoC) provides a glimmer of peace between India and Pakistan, despite the continued high alert status along the border. In a contrasting development, the European Central Bank (ECB) maintains its rates, seemingly uncoupled from the ongoing trade tensions between the United States and various countries. Elsewhere, the Pakistani army refuses to comment on the alleged ceasefire violation in the Poonch region, adding complexity to the situation. Meanwhile, reports suggest staff and doctors in Gaza are fainting from hunger, while the financial performance of Ajman Bank in the UAE for the second half of 2025 remains unclear. These disparate events underscore the diverse array of issues confronting the global community, ranging from business and finance to war-and-conflicts, politics, and general news.
