Armenia Joins ENACT Partnership, Upcoming Report to Boost Nature-based Solutions
The ENACT Partnership, dedicated to promoting Nature-based Solutions, recently held a high-level event at the IUCN World Conservation Congress. During this gathering, Armenia officially joined the partnership, further expanding its global reach. The event also saw the announcement of the upcoming launch of the Nature-based Solutions Accelerator Pathways Report at UNFCCC COP30 in Belém, Brazil.
Her Excellency Dr Manal Awad Mikhail, Egypt's Minister of Local Development and Acting Minister of the Environment, stressed Egypt's leading role in advancing Nature-based Solutions. Meanwhile, Mr Mher Margaryan, Armenia's Ambassador and COP17 Chief Negotiator, emphasized the importance of integrating these solutions into national strategies. Mr Oliver Conz, Director General of Germany's Federal Ministry for the Environment, underscored the urgency of investing in nature-positive action.
The ENACT Partnership, which aims to accelerate Nature-based Solutions to combat climate, biodiversity, and land degradation crises, will provide concrete pathways to scale up their adoption through the upcoming report. The event explored transformational Nature-based Solutions and the barriers to their implementation. Notably, Armenia also joined the IUCN as a State Member, demonstrating its commitment to advancing biodiversity conservation.
With Armenia's official joining and the upcoming report launch, the ENACT Partnership continues to grow and strengthen its mission. The report promises to provide practical ways to scale up Nature-based Solutions, offering hope in the fight against climate change and biodiversity loss.
