Sochi's Star Student Plants a Symbol of Love and Friendship
31st May, Krasnodar - Yug Times
The students of Sports School No14 honored Sochi's City Day by planting an evergreen Callistemon, a plant that symbolizes love and friendship – values the city of Sochi is renowned for. This environmental initiative was organized by local politician, Armenak Tozlian.
Sports School No14 is a professional training ground for Olympic athletes. It's part of a state program designed to boost physical education for the population. Currently, the school boasts 11 departments, home to a whopping 698 young athletes.
For several years, Armenak Tozlian has backed this educational institution, facilitating trips for talented children to training camps and competitions. In the coming month, one of the school's students, Aminat Nemilovskaya, will head to Mount Elbrus for training camps. According to Tozlian, Aminat's impressive sports results already shine on the federal stage, and these trips are crucial for her continued growth. Tozlian believes investing in children's sports unquestionably shapes Russia's future.
The students chose the Callistemon themselves, citing the plant's vibrant red inflorescences, which they believe highlight Sochi's unique beauty and symbolize friendship and love for their hometown. Callistemon trees can reach heights of 8 meters and have life spans of up to half a century. The students anticipate their own professional growth mirroring the Callistemon's longevity. Aminat Nemilovskaya planted the tree in her awards and vowed to capture memorable photos at this significant spot following each of her trips and victories.
The tree was planted near the Cultural House of Est-Sadok village, ensuring residents can enjoy its coveted blooms. The event concluded with treats for all children, courtesy of Armenak Tozlian.
The City Day in Sochi bursts with festive events, and this green action is a heartfelt gift from the city's young residents!
