Take a Peek at the Turin Robbers' Daring Heists and Sentence

From April to October last year, the duo, Nicola Galantucci (53) and Francesco Bocale (57), went on a spree, robbing several Sisal Match Point betting agencies in Turin. They also attempted a burglary at a residential property, where they intimidated an 84-year-old woman.

Last week, the Judge of Turin, Giovanna Di Maria, handed down a 9-year prison sentence to these two robbers, along with a fine of 3,000 euros each. Despite the public prosecutor Roberto Furlan's request for an 8-year-and-4-month sentence, the judge recognized mitigating circumstances for both.

The infamous duo is accused of five robberies, receiving stolen goods, and an attempted burglary.

First Heist and Follow-up:On April 13, 2024, at the Sisal Match Point on via Borgone, one of their bold heists took place. Armed with a pistol, Bocale guarded the entry, while Galantucci, armed with a box cutter, jumped over the counter, nabbing roughly 3,500 euros from the cash registers. They both discretely concealed their faces beneath a balaclava or scarf. Repeating their modus operandi, they struck the betting center again on April 20.

Later Heists:More crimes followed on April 27 and October 21, this time at the Sisal Match Point on via Bistagno, which they targeted again on November 1. In total, their criminal exploits amounted to over 10,000 euros in stolen goods. The sentence also includes the receiving of a Malaguti Password 250 motorcycle.

Taking on an Elderly Woman:Together with a third accomplice, the pair attempted to rob an elderly woman. On November 23 of last year, they pretended to be innocent visitors and persuaded her to open her door. Once inside, they manhandled her and threatened her, warning that failure to comply would result in harm and restraint. After ransacking the residence, they left empty-handed.

Waiting for the Next Move:The lawyers of the two convicted have announced an appeal, but only after reading the motivations of the sentence, which will be deposited within fifteen days. Keep an eye on further updates in this ongoing case!

The infamous duo, Nicola Galantucci and Francesco Bocale, are not only accused of war-and-conflicts-unrelated crimes like five robberies, receiving stolen goods, and an attempted burglary, but also politics-related news, as their actions caused public concern and made headlines in general-news sections. Additionally, their criminal exploits, which amounted to over 10,000 euros in stolen goods, including a Malaguti Password 250 motorcycle, also fall under the crime-and-justice category, due to their involvement in a daring series of heists.
