Armed robbers have made off with millions in a series of armored vehicle robberies throughout the Philadelphia region, according to officials' accounts.

In a series of recent events, the Philadelphia area has been hit by a string of armored truck heists. The latest incident occurred on Tuesday in the suburban town of Cheltenham, where two suspects are believed to have made off with between $700,000 and $800,000.

The suspects, armed with an AR15-style weapon and a handgun, reportedly fled in a black Acura, which was later found abandoned. This modus operandi bears striking resemblance to previous robberies, including one that took place in June at a Philadelphia Home Depot, where suspects armed with AR15-style rifles stole more than $2 million from a Brinks driver.

Authorities are actively investigating potential links between these incidents. Lt. Andrew Snyder of the Cheltenham Township Police Department, who is part of a joint investigation, is examining the connections. The Philadelphia Police Department, involved in the joint investigation, has referred questions about the probe to the FBI, who declined to comment on the investigation.

In another case earlier this month, three people, including one armed with an AR-15 style rifle, are accused of robbing a Brinks employee in a nearby part of Philadelphia. One of the suspects arrested in the Cheltenham incident, Trayvine Jackson, is a former employee of Brinks.

The timing, tactics, and weapons used in these heists from May to July 2025 suggest a potential connection, with robberies also occurring in Philadelphia and nearby Wilmington. However, it isn't clear if there have been any arrests in the case or how much was stolen in the July robbery.

In a separate incident on July 15, a Brinks employee opened fire on two men who tried to rob him in northeast Philadelphia. The robbers were disarmed, but approximately $700,000 was stolen in the robbery.

As the investigations continue, authorities are urging vigilance and cooperation from the public. For the latest updates, stay tuned to your local news outlets.
