Arman Kozakhmetov assumes leadership role in the Legislation Committee
Bringing Change to the Court: Kozhakhmetov Steps Up as Judicial Reform Chief
Stepping into a significant role, Arman Kozhakhmetov has been appointed as the head of the committee on legislation and judicial reform in the Mazhilis. The announcement was made at a recent plenary session, Total.kz reports.
As the deputies gathered, they bid farewell to former deputy Kanat Mussin, thanking him for his years of service.
In a heartfelt speech, Nurlan Nigmatulin recognized the heavy responsibility that comes with the position, especially for those involved in lawmaking. He praised Mussin for his efforts during the 7th convocation and wished him success in his future endeavors.
"The nature of a deputy's work is such that it carries great responsibility, especially for a lawyer involved in lawmaking. I must say that this happens in every convocation: colleagues leave and move on to other jobs. It's always a big responsibility for them and for the deputy corps. You are the first from the 7th convocation to leave this 'nest.' We wish you success. You will be judged by how the deputies of the current convocation work," Nigmatulin stated.
Following Mussin's departure, the focus shifted towards electing the chairman of the committee on legislation and judicial reform. Kozhakhmetov, with his extensive experience and knowledge in the field, emerged as the suitable candidate.
"You know him well, he is a qualified, knowledgeable lawyer who has worked in this field for many years and is a deputy of three convocations. He knows the committee's work well, has experience and knowledge, and I believe his candidacy is suitable for the position," Nigmatulin emphasized.
The meeting also touched upon the election of members for the Accounts Committee. Among the candidates proposed were Rustem Nurpeisov and Yulia Engel. The deputies, in a unanimous decision, supported the speaker's proposal.
