Ariana Grande awarded the title of Songwriter of the Year at the 2025 SESAC Los Angeles Music Awards
Ariana Grande was the star of the show at the SESAC Awards, held at the W Hotel in Hollywood. The pop sensation was honoured as the songwriter of the year, and her latest album "Eternal Sunshine" was the talk of the town.
Grande's hit single "We Can't Be Friends (Wait For Your Love)" from the album was a smash hit and broke records, making her the female artist with the most number-one debuts on Apple Music. This song, published by Universal Music Group Publishing, was one of the multiple award-winning tracks of the night.
Other notable winners included Jack Harlow, Emily Armstrong, Dahi, Japanese Breakfast, Green Day, Fede Vindver, Sam Tinnesz, and many more. The single "The Emptiness Machine" recorded by Linkin Park and "We Pray" by Coldplay ft. Little Simz, Burna Boy, Elyanna and Tini were also multiple award-winning songs on YouTube Music.
The SESAC awards aim to honour the incredible songwriters and publishers who make music come alive. This year, Universal Music Group Publishing received the publisher of the year award. The event celebrated a variety of genres and honoured numerous songwriters behind the most-performed songs of 2024.
Dez Wright and The Legendary Traxster, renowned music producers, were also recognised for their outstanding contributions to music production. They received producer of the year awards.
Tamara Jade served as the MC for the fourth year of the SESAC awards in Los Angeles. The event marked the fourth year it took place in the city, and it was a night to remember for the music industry.
James Leach and John Sweeney were posthumously awarded legacy awards, recognising their significant impact on the music industry.
Sam Kling, Scott Jungmichel, Mario Prins, and Diana Akin Scarfo were present at the event, adding to the glamour and excitement of the night. Ariana Grande also announced a tour in support of her "Eternal Sunshine" album, much to the delight of her fans on Apple Music.
