A Cop Under Scrutiny - ARD’s ‘On the Brink’ dives into Finn Kiesewetter’s darkest challenges after a fatal shooting
ARD's crime thriller 'On the Brink' premieres November 12, featuring Sven Martinek as Finn Kiesewetter, who faces a challenging time after a shooting incident and seeks refuge at his old holiday home. Prosecutor Elke Rasmussen arrives to assist him, but finds him not alone.
Directed by Dirk Pientka and written by Christiane Rousseau, 'On the Brink' is a standalone film that can be enjoyed without prior knowledge of 'Murders in the North'. In the series, Finn Kiesewetter, played by Sven Martinek, faces intense challenges after shooting suspect Adam Reichelt during a chase. Reichelt had attempted to steal a ring at Lübeck’s Old Town Market. Following the incident, Finn is suspended and investigated by Linda Stamm. He retreats to his old holiday home on the Baltic coast to escape media attention. Maja Jurić, who plays Miriam, is praised for her performance, having a life story similar to her character's, who fled the Bosnian War as a child. In the first TV movie, Finn Kiesewetter appeared to be dead after a motorcycle crash, adding to the series' suspense.
Tune in to ARD on November 12 to watch 'On the Brink', a thrilling crime drama that explores themes of guilt, justice, and law enforcement tension. The film will also be available to stream on ARD Mediathek. Sven Martinek's portrayal of Finn Kiesewetter, amidst his character's challenges, is not to be missed.
