The Republic of Sakha Archery Championship Kicks Off Tomorrow

The much-anticipated Republic of Sakha Archery Championship is set to commence tomorrow, 15th August, at the Tuymaada Stadium named after N.N. Tarasov in Yakutsk. This three-day competition aligns with the national goal set by President Vladimir Putin to increase the proportion of citizens regularly engaged in physical culture and sports to 70% by 2030.

The championship is open to athletes with at least 1st class training, born in 2011 or earlier. Both men and women will compete in the disciplines of recurve bow and compound bow. Men will compete at distances of 90, 70, 50, and 30 meters in recurve bow, and at unspecified distances in compound bow. Women will compete at 70, 60, 50, and 30 meters in recurve bow, and at unspecified distances in compound bow.

The competition is both individual and team-based, with winners and prize-winners being awarded commemorative medals, certificates, and a cup. Athletes who excel in the competition may become candidates for the Sakha Republic team. The main referee of the championship is Boris Borisovich Olesov, a referee of the highest category.

Unfortunately, there is no publicly available or recent information to identify the leading archers in the recurve and compound disciplines for the Republic of Sakha. For more information on current top archers from Sakha, one might have to look at official archery federation releases for Russia or local Sakha sports authorities.

The competition is part of the federal program "Development of Physical Culture and Sports". Spectators can look forward to an exciting display of archery skills and sportsmanship. Let the games begin!
