Archery competition records broken during the event
Firing the Arrow with All in Kill Spirit!
When it comes to English folk, it's "Good Luck", but among archers, they greet each other with an intense "All in Kill". Yeah, you heard that right, it's a wish too - but a wish for a lethal, precise shot. The archery world recently buzzed about "All in Kill" at the Nordmanns Cup in Feldberg.
Packed with Participants
Archers flocked to the Nordmanns Cup as the Feldberg archery club invited a whopping 140 archers to join in. This is the highest attendance ever recorded, according to Marco Schulz, one of the archery masters.
Apart from the Feldbergers, several clubs collaborated to organize the Nordmanns Cup. Feldberg hosted one of the six cup tournaments this year. A two-day final shoot will eventually determine the champion, but that's still a while away.
3D Targets Await
Archers tested their skills at 25 stations in Feldberg, with targets ranging from partridges to lynxes suspended in trees. The ultimate goal, of course, is to hit the "Kill" or "X-Kill" - a perfect shot worth 11 points, explains Marco Schulz.
No Arrows Lost, Leastways Found!
By the way, all 140 participants collected their arrows, even the ones that sometimes go astray. Marco Schulz, the archer, confirmed that they make a conscious effort to find them. The Nordmanns Cup takes place on the Kieskuhle Küstersteig grounds and adjacent leased lands, and they take pride in leaving everything just as they found it.
Variety of Bows and Age Groups
The archers fired their arrows with a diverse array of bows, including Primitive, Long, Hunting, Blank, Olympic Recurve, Compound Unlimited, and Compound Blank. Organized into groups, women, men, juniors, and children braved the 25 stations. The youngest member of the archery section is six, while the oldest is a spry 89!
