Celebrate Tradition and Camaraderie in Rees, Germany!

Stepping into June, the historic German marksmen community of Rees prepares to light up Feldmark and Millingen with their festive jamboree! Over two action-packed days—June 14th and 15th—21 local crews gather to showcase their skills and celebrate the legacy of marksmen.

Saturday's event at Rees-Feldmark centers around crowning the successors to Marco Koep as District Bird King and Melanie Berendsen as District Queen. Beginning at 1:30 PM, clubs and honorary guests make their grand entrance at the Rees-Feldmark shooting ground, followed by a solemn march to the sports field at Lindenallee for a series of rituals, speeches, and musical performances. The highlights include the district bird shooting and the crowning of the new rulers at the festival tent.

Ahead of the main event on Saturday, the district king shooting was held in Haldern on Friday evening, with the result to be announced during the coronation.

Soak up the spirit the next day in Millingen, as the St. Quirinus Marksmen Brotherhood plays host to the district flag-waving. The parade commences at 3 PM, followed by a prize-waving ceremony filled with short speeches and musical entertainment.
