Archers from Sverdlovsk region win silver in Russian championship
The archers from the Sverdlovsk region have proven their mettle once again, securing impressive victories at various tournaments across Russia. Most recently, they excelled at the Russian championship in Vladivostok last month, where Ekaterina Perova emerged as the individual champion and the women's team bagged two gold medals.
Ekaterina Perova, along with her teammates Ekaterina Biryukova and Elena Chebakov, also claimed a second-place finish in St. Petersburg, adding to their growing list of accolades. In Vladivostok, Perova teamed up with Vitaliy Popov to win another gold medal, further solidifying their position as formidable competitors.
However, despite their success, the women's team from the Sverdlovsk region faced a setback in the Russian championship, losing to the team from Zabaykalsky Krai in the final match with a score of 0:6. Nevertheless, their performances have earned them a spot in the "Queen of Sports" final in Yekaterinburg, a competition reserved for athletes who have won medals in previous tournaments.
The "Queen of Sports" final will feature athletes from various regions of Russia, with the exact location and time yet to be announced. The tournament will bring together 325 top athletes from across the country, making it a highly anticipated event in the world of Russian sports.
While the exact rankings of the Russian teams from the latest championship in St. Petersburg are yet to be confirmed, it is worth noting that Sergei Odinokov from Moscow is a top individual archer, having won multiple Russian championships and the 2023 World Championship.
The archers from the Sverdlovsk region will be aiming to build on their recent success and continue their impressive form in the "Queen of Sports" final. With their determination and skill, they are sure to put up a strong fight against the best archers Russia has to offer.
