Aquapulse Secures ₹25 Cr to Revolutionize India's Shrimp and Fish Farming
Aquapulse, a two-year-old aquaculture startup, is expanding its services with new technology and funding. The company has raised ₹25 Cr (around $2.7 Mn) in its latest Series A round, led by NABVENTURES through its AgriSURE Fund. Founded in 2022 by brothers Abhishek and Abhilash Dwivedy, it now plans to grow its network to 15,000 farmers across three key states.
Aquapulse offers farmers an app-based system to monitor water quality, predict growth, and receive expert advice. This digital platform helps modernise farming practices while connecting producers directly with buyers. By cutting out middlemen, the startup ensures farmers get better prices for their shrimp and fish.
The company also handles post-harvest tasks, including grading, cold storage, logistics, and compliance checks. To strengthen quality control and boost profits, it will soon open its own processing facility. Additionally, Aquapulse is investing in AI-driven harvest systems to further improve efficiency. India's aquaculture industry relies heavily on shrimp, which makes up nearly 70% of the country's seafood export value. Currently, no other Indian startup provides a full solution covering pre-harvest to post-harvest needs. Aquapulse aims to fill this gap by scaling operations in Odisha, Andhra Pradesh, and West Bengal.
With fresh funding and an expanding farmer base, Aquapulse is set to strengthen its position in India's aquaculture market. The startup's integrated approach—from digital tools to direct buyer links—could change how shrimp and fish farming operates in the region. Its upcoming processing plant and AI upgrades will likely play a key role in this growth.
