The sale of the freakin' NBA's Minnesota Timberwolves and the WNBA's Minnesota Lynx to a gang steered by ex-MLB star, Alex Rodriguez, and e-commerce mogul, Marc Lore, has scored a unanimous nod from the NBA's board of governors, the league announced on Tuesday.
Rodriguez and Lore ain't newbies when it comes to the Timberwolves, as they previously owned a slice of the NBA franchise's pie. The sale's projected to close within the next few days, wrap up with an estimated price tag of $1.5 billion, according to ESPN.

An introductory press conference for Rodriguez and Lore is set to take place in July in Sin City – home of the NBA summer league. Lore will likely serve as the T'Wolves primary governor, while the former New York Yankees star is slated to be the franchise's alternate governor.

The Lynx have scooped up four WNBA championships since the squad was formed in 1999. The Timberwolves have yet to claim an NBA Finals title, but they made it to this year's Western Conference Finals.
