In recent developments, the French government has imposed restrictions on the movement of asylum seekers from the United Kingdom to France, following the case of Khadar Mohamed. This decision comes amidst ongoing protests outside a migrant hotel in Epping, where several arrests have been made in recent weeks.

The first deportation of a migrant back to France took place on Thursday, but another individual will not be deported under the Government's 'one in, one out' policy. An attempt to remove a migrant aboard an Air France flight from Heathrow to Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport was abandoned, adding to the growing list of blocked deportation flights.

One of the migrants, an Eritrean man, lost a battle to stay in Britain and was told he would be deported. However, his case was taken to the High Court, where he argued that he would be 'destitute' if the Home Office sends him back to France. The court hearing is yet to announce its decision.

Meanwhile, another passenger flight went ahead without any people who crossed the Channel on board. The protests in Epping, centred around the Bell Hotel, have escalated to such an extent that Epping District Council has announced it will take its case to shut down the hotel to the Supreme Court.

Labour's bid to deport small boat migrants back to France is facing criticism, with some commentators suggesting it is at risk of turning into a farce due to the blocked deportation flights. The situation remains complex and uncertain, with both the UK and French governments grappling with the issue of migrant crossings.

As the situation continues to unfold, it is clear that the issue of migrant crossings is a contentious one, with protests, court hearings, and blocked deportation flights making headlines. The future of these migrants, and the policies surrounding their treatment, remains to be seen.
