Appointment of a new head for the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) in Krasnoyarsk Krai.
In the expansive expanses of Krasnoyarsk Krai, a fresh face has taken charge as the regional head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD). Known as Alexander Solovyev, this seasoned policeman hails from the city of Volgograd, having previously served in the Republic of Altai and the Volgograd Oblast.
Today, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Kolokoltsev, introduced the new leaders of three territorial organizations of the MVD of Russia. Among them is the new chief of police for Krasnoyarsk Krai – General-Major of Police Alexander Solovyev.
Turning 49 this year, Solovyev kicked off his career in 1995 as a milliceman with the patrol and post service. From 2017 to 2021, he held the position of the head of the Drug Trafficking Control Department for the Volgograd Oblast. By 2022, he ascended to the role of Minister of Internal Affairs for the Republic of Altai. From June 2025, Solovyev served as the Deputy Chief of the Main Department of Operational Response for the MVD of Russia until his recent promotion.
To jog your memory, the previous head of the Krasnoyarsk Krai police, General-Lieutenant Alexander Rechitsky stepped down at the end of April. He was later appointed as the head of the MVD of Russia for the Rostov Oblast.

As for Solovyev, his impressive career has been marked by his involvement in high-profile investigations and the arrest of notorious offenders. In the city of Kamensk-Uralsky, he played a crucial role in the apprehension of a serial killer[3][5]. Additionally, his tenure has seen him take part in the arrests of former high-ranking officials, such as Nikolai Smirnov, the former minister of housing and public utilities, and Igor Dubrovina, the former minister of construction[5].
