Appointee Trusty Announces Senior Legal Counsel Choose in Federal Communications Commission
FCC Commissioner Olivia Trusty Appoints Marcus Maher as Senior Legal Advisor
Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Commissioner Olivia Trusty has appointed Marcus Maher as her senior Legal Advisor. Maher previously served in various capacities within the FCC, including the Wireline Competition Bureau, Pricing Policy Division, and Competition Policy Division[2][3].
Before joining the Office of General Counsel, Maher began his legal career in private practice at Wiley Rein[6]. He later moved to the FCC Office of General Counsel's Administrative Law Division[4].
In his new role, Maher will lead on wireline, enforcement, media, and consumer issues[1]. This appointment comes as Commissioner Trusty's transition continues, with Jessica Kinsey moving on to her next chapter[7].
Kinsey served as Acting Legal Advisor on wireline, enforcement, media, and consumer issues during a critical period of Commissioner Trusty's transition. She brought expertise, professionalism, and an unwavering work ethic to the role[8]. Commissioner Trusty thanked Kinsey for her service and wished her the very best[9].
Fatimah Brown, who previously served as an administrative assistant in the Space Bureau, has been appointed as Staff Assistant under Commissioner Trusty[2]. William Holloway will continue to lead on wireless, space, international, engineering and technology, and public safety issues[1].
Fatimah Brown holds a bachelor's degree from Bowie State University[2]. Marcus Maher received his Juris Doctorate from Harvard Law School[3] and his undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa[6].
