New Leadership at Penang Hindu Endowments Board (PHEB)

The Penang Hindu Endowments Board (PHEB), a statutory body that administers endowments for the benefit of the Hindu community in Penang, has announced its new leadership. The appointments were made during PHEB's inaugural meeting today.

The newly appointed chairman is RSN Rayer. Joining him as deputy chairman is Senator Dr A Lingeshwaran. Datuk Seri S. Sundarajoo, Penang housing and environment committee chairman, has been appointed as an executive council member, responsible for coordinating matters related to the state government.

Other commissioners appointed include Bagan Dalam assemblyman K Kumaran, Batu Uban assemblyman A Kumaresan, and Penang MIC chairman Datuk J. Dhinagaran, among a total of 19 new commissioners. Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow announced these appointments on August 1, 2025, for a one-year term, from August 1, 2025, to July 31, 2026.

PHEB is known for its educational initiatives, providing financial aid to Hindu students, and has significant influence in Penang due to its role in managing and promoting the religious, cultural, and social interests of the Hindu community. The board's hope is to serve the Hindu community in Penang well.
