Arnsberg Senior Council to be Reconstituted
The city of Arnsberg is taking steps to address the concerns of its senior population. The Senior Council, a group representing the interests of older residents, will be reconstituted as part of the upcoming municipal election on October 31.
The Senior Council, which meets monthly, serves as a point of contact for seniors in Arnsberg. It brings the concerns of the elderly to relevant municipal bodies and institutions, working to improve living conditions for the older population. The council consists of 15 members, each bringing their respective interests and experiences to the table.
Residents of Arnsberg aged 55 and over with their primary residence in the city can apply for the Senior Council. The application deadline has been extended to October 15, and the application form can be found on the city's official website. Information and the application form can also be obtained from the Future of Age office of the city of Arnsberg.
The new Senior Council will be announced on November 14, and its term will begin on January 1, 2022. The council will continue to develop ideas to improve living conditions for the elderly in Arnsberg and will represent the interests of the older population publicly.
The Senior Council will also participate with an advisory vote in four specialist committees of the city. Council members will work closely with these committees to ensure the needs of the elderly are being met and addressed.
