Apple’s sustainability leader Lisa Jackson to retire in early 2026
Lisa Jackson, Apple’s vice president of Environment, Policy, and Social Initiatives, will retire in late January 2026. She has led the company’s sustainability news for over a decade after joining in 2013. Her departure marks the end of a long tenure focused on reducing Apple’s environmental impact.
Jackson first arrived at Apple in 2013 following her role as administrator of the US Environmental Protection Agency. Under her leadership, the company cut its greenhouse gas emissions by more than 60% compared to 2015 levels. Her work also expanded Apple’s renewable energy news and supply chain sustainability.
Apple will now distribute Jackson’s duties across existing leadership rather than appoint a new head. Khan will oversee the teams previously under her direction. The company’s sustainability news, including further emissions reductions, will continue under the new arrangement.
